Overview
Elementis Chromium is the world's largest producer of chromium chemicals. It has three major plants: in the northeast of England (Eaglescliffe), in southern Texas, US (Corpus Christi) and in North Carolina, US (Castle Hayne).
Chromium is a highly adaptable element and Elementis Chromium products are used in a number of applications including:
- leather tanning - producing high quality leathers for garment and footware manufacture
- timber treatment - extending the life of timber by repelling insect and fungal attack
- metal finishing - providing metals and plastics with a strong, tarnish-resistant finish
