Job Summary

This leadership role will focus on testing of new and current materials to provide better understanding of attributes and efficacy of product line. You will support R&D initiatives to improve speed to market through effective product evaluation. This role is key in understanding and communicating product value, driving growth and revenue opportunities in the personal care market.

Responsibilities

1 - You lead a global team to generate new data, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation, and providing direction to achieve business objectives.

2 - You provide guidance and technical direction on project briefs and oversee the experimental process, ensuring we meet quality and performance standards. 

3 - You participate in experimentation on the bench with conventional and/or non-conventional/creative approaches that will lead to unique product claims and benefits.

4 - You lead multiple projects simultaneously, oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets to deliver successful outcomes. 

5 - You manage external collaborations to deliver timely and meaningful results. 

Decision making

Typically, you have the authority to make decisions related to technical direction, methodologies, approaches and product development processes. You can also make decisions related to project execution, including timelines, milestones and resource allocation within budget. Higher-level approvals are required for those related to significant budget allocations, strategic shifts, or major collaborations that have substantial financial or long-term implications.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced understanding of personal care product evaluation methodologies  
  • Intermediate knowledge of technical writing
  • Intermediate knowledge of personal care industry key market trends 

Position Requirements

Education: A bachelors degree or higher in a life science.

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in personal care formulation or product testing, 2+ years in management 

IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with a strong capability for presentation creation, Project management software.

Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English, Portuguese

Working arrangements: Hybrid working arrangements possible.  To be discussed

Traveling required: Trade shows, customer and global lab visits as required.
