Job Summary

This role leads technical service initiatives from our labs in Europe, China and the US. This position will work closely with the global team in establishing priorities and recommending new development ideas. This dynamic position will lead new product launches and drive customer engagement through the creation of digital and live content.

Job Description

Responsibilities 

 

  • You lead a team to generate new personal care formula prototypes, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation, and providing direction to achieve business objectives. 
  • You provide guidance and technical direction on project briefs and oversee the product development process, ensuring we meet quality and performance standards. 
  • You lead multiple projects simultaneously, oversee project timelines, resources, and budgets to deliver successful outcomes. 
  • You communicate the product vision to higher management and to cross-functional teams in order to bring a proactive thinking regarding product launch support. 
  • You perform an active role in new product brainstorming sessions with Marketing and R&D.  

 

Decision making 

 

Typically, you have the authority to make decisions related to technical direction, methodologies, approaches and product development processes. You can also make decisions related to project execution, including timelines, milestones and resource allocation within budget. Higher-level approvals are required for those related to significant budget allocations, strategic shifts, or major collaborations that have substantial financial or long-term implications.

Technical Knowledge and Skills 

 

  • Advanced understanding of personal care formulation development  

  • Intermediate awareness of regulatory guidelines and restrictions for new product development  

  • Intermediate knowledge of personal care industry market trends  

 

 

 

Position Requirements 

Education: A bachelors degree or higher in a life science. 

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in personal care formulation, 2+ years in management 

IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with a strong capability for presentation creation, Project management software 

Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English, Portuguese  

Working arrangements: Hybrid working arrangements possibleTo be discussed 

Traveling required: Trade shows, customer and global lab visits as required.
