Job Summary

The role will be responsible for the technical management of the Elementis reporting, planning and analytics tool acting as a partner for all business lines and functions to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial management information (MI). He/she will be pivotal to faster and better decision making across the organisation. The role will ensure tight control and governance around financial master data management flows across the organisation and work collaboratively to define the data/systems roadmap to implement best-in-class processes, practices and reporting. Direct reports include the Reporting & MI Performance Analyst and Data Integrity Manager both located in Porto. The role will support the design of a business management and performance planning process, and data-driven process improvements. This role will build analytical capabilities within the team and bring objective/analytical based input to the decision-making processes across Elementis.

Responsibilities

  • Is the system owner & centre of excellence for the Elementis reporting, planning and analytics tool, responsible for all technical management, user support and training. Responsible for championing and driving the adoption of the appropriate analytical tools across the organisation to promote more efficient ways of working alongside data driven performance insights to support the Groups growth ambitions.
  • Lead on dashboard development, working with the Director of Data, technical, BU and functional teams to design and implement analytical tools that deliver critical performance insights and recommended interventions to ensure Elementis achieves its strategic goals. Leverage data across the organisation from multiples sources (e.g. Salesforce, Workday) to deliver one version of the truth.
  • Develop and implement analytical tools and drive education on their use, such as: price, mix, profitability trends (customer, product and plant), self-driven new analysis, productivity opportunities and concerns and, if necessary, corrective action areas.
  • Data owner in Performance Management team, with responsibility for the standardisation of metrics and KPIs across the organisation, accurate data mappings, accurate hierarchies and data integrity. Partner with Data Director and data leads within BU’s and functions to ensure all data governance and standards are followed. The Data Integrity Manager is a direct report.
  • Drive technology improvements in the financial management activities, including the development and implementation of new reporting tools. Support a programme of continuous improvement in performance management and MI to promote standardization and simplification through a systematic approach.
  • Lead on the technical management of the Finario capex system and Smartsheet project management tool to ensure data integrity, and appropriate data integration with ERP and reporting tools.
  • Responsible for daily sales reporting, tracking business momentum and enabling data driven performance insights. Also responsible for new business opportunity tracking and reporting, leveraging data from Salesforce in an effective manner.

Decision making

You will have the authority to make decisions related to the day-to-day technical management of the Elementis reporting, planning and analytics architecture. The role will influence critical decision making around business commercial and functional decision making through the creation of clear data driven insights. Higher-level approvals would be required for decisions related to strategic shifts or significant decisions that have substantial financial or long-term implications.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven track record of successful partnering with business leadership
  • Strong data modelling and data analytics capabilities are required
  • Proficiency in reporting, data visualization and analysis tools, such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong strategic analysis of financial information to derive data-driven insights
  • Detail-orientated in ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliations/variance analysis

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (preferred).

Experience: +8years work experience in reporting and MI.

IT Skills: Proficient in JD Edwards (highly advantageous), Tableau (highly advantageous), Power BI (highly advantageous), Finario (helpful), Hyperion/FCCS (helpful). Highly proficient or expert level in MS Excel, including pivot tables. Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English.

Working arrangements: Minimum 3 days a week in the office

Traveling required: Occasional international travel to other Elementis sites as required.
