Paul Waterman

Chief Executive Officer

Paul was appointed CEO on 8 February 2016.

Paul has a proven track record in developing markets, products and opportunities for creating value, business optimisation and transformation. Paul’s global experience provides the skill set required to deliver the Reignite Growth strategy and provide inspiring leadership.

Prior to joining Elementis, Paul was global CEO of the BP lubricants business in 2013 after having overseen the BP Australia/New Zealand downstream business. In 2010, Paul was country president of BP Australia. Prior to this he was CEO of BP’s global aviation, industrial, marine and energy lubricants businesses (2009 to 2010) and CEO of BP Lubricants Americas (2007 to 2009). He joined BP after it acquired Burmah-Castrol in 2000, having joined the latter in 1994 after roles at Reckitt Benckiser and Kraft Foods. 

Paul holds a BSc degree in Packaging Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University, Stern School of Business.

Ralph Hewins

Chief Financial Officer

Ralph was appointed CFO-Designate and Executive Director on 12 September 2016 and became the Elementis Group CFO on 1 November 2016.

Ralph is an accomplished CFO who has a strong track record in finance, strategy development and implementation, and M&A which enables him to provide effective financial leadership to underpin the delivery of the Reignite Growth strategy.

Ralph had a 30 year career with BP, where he held a number of significant leadership positions, including roles in financial management, sales and marketing, corporate development, M&A, strategy and planning. In 2010, Ralph was CFO of BP Lubricants and served on the board of Castrol India Limited from 2010 until 2016. 

Ralph holds an MA degree in Modern History and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD.

Walker Allen

General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Walker joined Elementis as General Counsel in 1999 and was appointed General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in 2006. Prior to joining Elementis, Walker was associate general counsel with GE Americom (a GE Capital company) and before that senior business counsel with GE Plastics (a division of General Electric Company). He began his legal career as a lawyer in private practice with two leading New York City law firms, where he specialised in corporate law, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. Walker is a member of the New York Bar and is admitted as in-house counsel in New Jersey.

Marci Brand

SVP Global Personal Care

Marci joined as SVP Global Personal Care in February 2018. Marci had a 35 year career with BP in marketing and sales leadership roles in both business to business and business to consumer environments. Her most recent position was VP, global accounts where she was responsible for leading and developing strategic cooperation with selected global partners. Former positions include VP, global industrial, marine and energy (2014 to 2015) and regional VP, North and Latin America (2010 to 2014), both in BP Lubricants. Marci holds a BSc degree in Marketing from Seton Hall University and is a graduate of the Sales and Marketing Executive Programme from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.

Luc van Ravenstein

SVP Global Coatings

Luc joined Elementis in January 2012 as Global Business Director, Personal Care and became SVP, Personal Care in July 2016. In February 2018, he was appointed VP of global Coatings. Luc began his career at Croda where he held various roles in their coatings business before heading up their European personal care business. Whilst at Elementis, and leading the Personal Care business, Luc was responsible for the SummitReheis business post acquisition. Luc has an MSc degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and a Professional Doctorate in Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology. 

Eric Waldmann

SVP Global Chromium

Eric was appointed SVP Global Chromium on 1 February 2018. Eric has 26 years of experience in the areas of finance, accounting, mergers and acquisitions and sourcing. He has been with Elementis Chromium since 2007 and his most recent position was VP Finance and Sourcing. Prior to joining Elementis, Eric held several positions at Honeywell and ICI in their finance and mergers and acquisitions functions. Eric is a member of the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA) Council, which overseas and sets the strategy for promoting the value and sustainability of chromium and represents the chromium industry worldwide.
Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bucknell University, and an MBA from Villanova University. Eric is also a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Christian Kather

SVP Global Talc

Christian Kather joined Elementis in 2018 as part of the Mondo Minerals acquisition and is SVP of Global Talc. Christian has led the Talc business since 2011 having joined Mondo in 2010. Christian's former experience was in business leadership roles in international specialty chemicals companies with roles in both Europe and the U.S.

Steve Ridge

SVP Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain

Steve joined Elementis on 18 March 2019 as Senior Vice President, Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain. Steve brings to Elementis his solid experience in overseeing a global manufacturing footprint. With a proven track record of leading international teams and a passion for safety and continuous improvement, Steve drives a strong safety culture and operational excellence across all of Elementis' facilities around the world. Prior to Elementis, Steve was global manufacturing director for FMC for their agriculture business. Steve has a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Joseph Lupia

SVP Global Research & Development

Joe joined Elementis on 2 January 2019. Joe has more than 30 years of experience in various R&D and business roles in the US and Europe and has a strong background in rheology, global synthesis and applications research, technical service, development of new products and technologies, and commercialization methodologies. Joe was previously Director, Technical Innovations and Customer Support – Care Chemicals, US, for BASF Corporation. 

Chris Shepherd

Chief Human Resources Officer

Chris joined Elementis as Chief Human Resources Officer in November 2017. Chris has almost 20 years of global human resources experience having spent the first 12 years of his career in manufacturing and supply chain. Most recently Chris held the position of CHRO for BGL Group, a UK Digital Insurance business. He has held prior positions as CHRO at Kantar and Edwards Group and spent over 22 years at Mars Incorporated where he was based in the UK, Italy, China and Singapore. Chris holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool.

Ajeeth Enjeti

SVP, Strategy and Transformation

Ajeeth joined Elementis in 2018 as part of the Mondo Minerals acquisition and leads the Strategy and Transformation agenda for the company. Previously, Ajeeth was COO and a board member of Mondo Minerals (now Elementis Talc), wherein he was part of the leadership team that led the Mondo Minerals transformation into a higher value company. Prior to Mondo, Ajeeth was a strategy consultant with Bain & Company, overseeing major strategic projects for Fortune 500 corporations. Earlier in his career, Ajeeth also held various senior commercial roles at multinationals such as PepsiCo and IBM in Asia and the Middle East.

 
Ajeeth earned his MBA from IMD (Switzerland) and holds a master’s degree in Marketing and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Laura Higgins

Company Secretary

Laura joined the Company on 2 January 2018 and became Company Secretary on 31 January 2018. Laura brings extensive company secretarial experience from roles in UK and internationally quoted companies including Sky, Britvic, Betfair, Trinity Mirror, Rio Tinto and Brambles Industries.

Laura holds a degree in Law and Legal Studies with History and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice. Laura is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
