Job Summary
Position in EMEA, Home based working. This is a position within the business segment Personal and a core role in defining, driving and accelerating the strategic path for growth of the business unit markets. The position has responsibility for the global segment growth strategy for the segment and the execution on a regional level. The strategy will consider global trends, industry shifts, customer needs and Elementis strategic priorities and capabilities. This is highly influential, collaborative, global role in which the Marketing Segment Manager will work closely with portfolio-pricing management, sales, technology, supply chain and operations as well as with peers in other marketing functions and across regions in supporting the key strategic growth platforms of Elementis.

Responsibilities
You develop & deploy the segment strategic plan, based on conducting thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities and assess competitive landscape. Developing detailed growth plans enfolding guidance on application, geography, customer segmentation, and product positioning. Translating global segment strategy into actionable regional go-to-market plans.
You define a segment winning offer with compelling value propositions. Establish market segmentation structure based on customer needs and competitor knowledge. Articulate clear and differentiated value propositions for each customer-portfolio- and sub-segment.
You shape and deliver the segment innovation pipeline. Define new product and service projects based on industry trends and customer needs. Prioritize innovation pipeline to reflect segment requirements and growth plan. Lead or collaborate on significant innovation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Lead the commercialization strategy of new product for the segment and drive tactics and implementation, in collaboration with other functions.
You drive segment positioning and promotion. Establish Elementis positioning in the segment based on differentiated value proposition and ensure internal and external communication in collaboration and alignment with the marketing communication team. Define priorities for promotion, advertising, trade shows and industry activities. Ensure sales teams are equipped with necessary information and training on value proposition and new product positioning.
You assure the execution of global and regional growth plans. Drive plan execution, defining timelines, targets, KPI’s and leading the relevant strategic growth platforms. Support regional sales teams through training and customer visits. Monitor progress and report to the Global Head of Strategic Marketing on a regular base.

Decision Making
- Owns and defines the global segment strategy, setting-up the final segment strategic direction, prioritization of growth platforms and growth initiatives, and prioritizing allocation of resources across applications, regions, and customer segments in alignment with Elementis business objectives.
- Makes critical portfolio and innovation prioritization decisions, balancing short-term commercial performance with long-term strategic growth, including product lifecycle management, investment focus, and pipeline creation and acceleration.
- Determines segment positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market approach, making independent decisions on market segmentation, target customers, and differentiation strategy, with direct impact on revenue and margin outcomes.
- Leads cross-functional decision-making, influencing and aligning Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, and Pricing to ensure execution of the segment strategy, resolving trade-offs and setting clear priorities across competing business needs.
- Makes investment and resource allocation recommendations, including marketing spend, innovation resources, and strategic initiatives, based on clear business cases and expected return.
- Monitors performance and takes corrective action, making timely decisions to adjust strategy, reprioritize initiatives, and reallocate resources based on market dynamics, customer feedback, and financial performance.
What will it take
Position Requirements
Education: Master’s degree, preferably Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, Marketing or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in multinational companies, preferably in Technology, Sales, Marketing or Businesss positions. Minimum of 5 years experience in business to business marketing. Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans and creating profitable growth for various business and products. Experience in market research and customer segmentation and translating trends and needs analyses into actionable plans. Preferably previous working experience in the personal care market.
Skills: Combines excellent analytics, data and financial skills with creativity and customer focus. Advanced understanding of shaping segment plans and understanding of product development processes and methodologies. Strong interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills.
Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in English.
