Job Summary
The role will build up our competence in Art paint application by develop formulations, techniques, and application methods. The role will support China and SEA business growth of architectural coatings through managing and implementing technical service activities including new business opportunity (NBO) of sales teams. The role is responsible for screening customer formulations to promote Elementis products to replace competitive products as well as supporting the commercial team to generate data for new product launches and customer training. Supports product qualifications, generating data to validate customer complaints, and screen raw materials as needed. Support customers in developing tests to achieve performance goals in applications proprieties.
Job Description
- You will be working with the lab manager and sales team to design, develop, test, and introduce new and innovative coating solutions in architectural coatings.
- You will support the commercial team by actively generating data to update product portfolio and new business opportunities NBOs through focusing on technical service activities of global key account management (GKAM) and key customers.
- You will be responsible for working with the commercial team to implement training for sales/technical sales, key customers and distributors.
- You will be responsible for coaching and guiding other Elementis labs for technical expertise in new architectural coatings segment.
- You will be responsible for working with R&D, manufacturing and procurement to provide evaluation support for pilot scale up, process improvement, non-qualified products, customer complaints and new raw materials.
- You will be responsible for coaching and guiding team members to achieve department’s goal.
- You will be responsible for supporting the management of projects using Project Management tools (Stage Gate process, timelines, financials, etc.) to plan, track, and communicate activities.
- You will be responsible for the safety operation of the architectural coatings lab, equipment maintenance and chemical management.
What will it take
- Advanced knowledge in architectural coatings, especially in art paints, multicolor paint and stone finish paint in terms of technology, formulation, raw materials, application and testing.
- Good knowledge in mechanism and chemistry of coating additives
- Advanced understanding of product development processes and methodologies for the architectural coatings segment
- Eager for knowledge and problem solving
- Works well in team environment
- Education: Bachelor degree or above in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science or related
- Experience: 5+ years of practical experience of architectural coatings, especially in art paints, multicolor paint and stone finish paint and customer collaboration/customer service.
- IT Skills: Microsoft word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Teams
- Language Skills: Verbal and written ability in English
- Working arrangements: 40 hours per week.
- Traveling required: 15% of travel required.
